The International Ballet Competition and Contest of Choreographers is postponed to 2022

"It is difficult to maintain the historical regulations in 2021, to ensure a truly international competition with the participation of worthy contestants from many countries in the conditions of existing epidemiological restrictions in the world" - Andrey Malyshev, General Director of the Federal Directorate of Music and Festival Programs of "ROSCONCERT"

"To maintain a high professional status of competition in coordination with the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the leading figures of the national ballet, headed by Yury Grigorovich made tough for us decision about his transfer.

The XIV International Competition of Ballet Dancers and Choreographers will be in mid - 2022. As a matter of fact, unlike our foreign colleagues, who have already postponed their ballet shows to 2022-2023, we were hoping to implement our Competition within the planned time frame.

But the existing realities force us to resort to similar actions to postpone the dates of the event in order not only to ensure a high level of contestants and jury members, but also to preserve their health" - Andrey Malyshev.

The International Ballet Competition was established by the Government of the Russian Federation in 1969. The competition is held by "ROSCONCERT" with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and takes place once every four years.
